Q: What’s your cooking background?
Kim: I grew up in Detroit with two southern parents. Home-cooked meals were the norm in our household. My mother and father can legit throw down in the kitchen. As a little girl, I would watch my mother prepare meals for our family from scratch. Eventually, I was promoted to her little sous-chef, prepping food and follow simple recipes until I was able to master her southern cooking.

Q: What can you tell us about this dish and what inspired it?
Kim: This dish is my simple go-to meal: lemon garlic pesto shrimp Caesar salad tossed in creamy Caesar dressing. I’ve added an egg and avocados, topped with Parmesan cheese and garlic croutons. Served with garlic bread. I often make this meal post-workout. It’s light and satisfying and doesn’t leave you hungry and wanting more food.
Q: Anything else we should know about you and your cooking?
Kim:Β My love for cooking grew from feeding my family and friends. I enjoy trying new foods and my palette has evolved from southern cuisine to include food inspired by my world travels. I’m excited to feed the community, I welcome any suggestions.
