Q: What’s your cooking background?

Rachael: I’ve been in the kitchen with my mom, aunts, & grandma since I can remember. I learned precise technique from my chemist mom and my love for food & cooking comes from my Parisian grandma.

Q: Where did you grow up and what kind of food did you grow up with?

Rachael: I grew up in the Midwest, but am also half French, so I grew up eating simple comfort food with great ingredients. Sauces and gravies were always a focal point of meals.

Q: What’s your favorite food memory?

Rachael: Sundays at my grandma’s house. She would make croissants every Sunday and would start preparing dinner as we ate our late morning croissants. Dinner was always inspired by whatever looked good to my grandma at the market.

Sundays at Grandma’s are also where I learned my knife skills; she would give me fruits and vegetables to peel, chop, and dice.
