Get to know Ty in this Q&A and get her “Fiesta bowl – veggie” WEDNESDAY (2/27) from 4-6PM!

Q: How did you first learn to cook and what’s your cooking background?

Ty: I’ve been cooking since the age of 10. However, I never really started to pay attention to recipes until I was about 16 years old. So, I’ve been cooking in the game about 15+ years strong.

Ty’s “Fiesta Bowl – Veggie!” No meat fiesta bowl, black beans, corn, sauteed sweet peppers, potatoes, pico & sour cream over jasmine rice.

Q: What can you tell us about the dish you’re making and what inspired it?

Ty: I LOVE Mexican food and I’m a non meat eater so this favorite dish always makes me happy. When I make this dish, I think of my last trip to Mexico City DF and how amazing spending NYE there was.

Ty’s “Soul Veg!” Sweet potatoes, red cabbage and coconut curry string beans over jasmine rice. Next Wednesday (3/6) from 5:30-7:00PM!

Q: Where did you grow up and what kind of food did you grow up with?

Ty: I grew up on Chicago’s northside in Lakeview. I was exposed to all sorts of food at a young age. Chinese, Thai and Italian primarily.

Q: What’s your favorite food memory?

Ty: Cooking in the kitchen with my Aunts for Thanksgiving.

Q: Anything else we should know about you and your cooking?

Ty: I cook with my heart. Every single meal. Color makes a difference to me and taste of course is the best!

Follow Ty to see what she makes next! And get her “Fiesta bowl – veggie” WEDNESDAY (2/27) from 4-6PM!
